Trainee Helpdesk Technician: Remote Support
About the business

With clients across Tasmania, Neveco is a Managed IT Services Provider based on the North West Coast. We provide consultancy services, day to day support, hardware installation and Software as a Service solutions to a wide variety of business customers. With 17 years of success behind us, our team will be expanding further in 2024 as we roll out new and improved service offerings.

Our inviting office is in a modern, key-less building in the Devonport CBD. Custom made desks are kitted out with 32" monitors and there is plenty of natural light. Gigabit WAN allows for lag-free remote support to our clients and lets Spotify play in HD.

About the role

We are looking for a Trainee Helpdesk Technician to help us continue providing a high standard of remote, telephone, and email support to our growing client base. Our staff provide excellent service in every engagement and our Helpdesk Technicians are the entry point for client requests. Helpdesk Technicians escalate to the wider support team as required, but solve a lot of problems without escalation every day.

You will work with a wide variety of technology and assist in solving endpoint, network, and grow to assist with server issues for our 4,000 plus users. You will also work with the projects team from time to time on larger roll-outs, allowing you to be exposed to new technologies and gain valuable skills along the way.

We are open to the occasional work from home day, but this is primarily an office-based role.

About you

Prior experience or qualifications are not necessary.

Successful applicants will hold or be willing to obtain the following pre-requisites of our client base:

  • National police check (company paid)
  • Tasmanian registration to work with vulnerable people (company paid)
Remuneration

A package relevant to experience and credentials will be tailored to suit the successful candidate. The package will be linked to an appropriate award, however, we pay above award rates. Trainee Helpdesk Technician positions include a laptop, home internet connection, private health extras and are eligible for our profit bonus and training bonus schemes. Paid overtime opportunities are available, and as mentioned above, we work a nine-day fortnight.
