The school provides an engaging and stimulating student-centered education environment, attracting the best students and researchers nationally and internationally.The University is seeking a Study Coordinator to join a multidisciplinary research team conducting an MRFF funded study to implement pulmonary rehabilitation and nurse-led self-management for people with chronic lung disease in primary care. The results of this study will directly address the core aim of increasing Australia's evidence base through rigorous research that improves service delivery and health outcomes for people with diseases of ageing.This project will trial two evidence-based strategies that will improve access to a general practitioner led multidisciplinary team-based approach, including case-management by a registered nurse, and improved access to allied health delivered pulmonary rehabilitation delivered by private practice exercise physiologists and physiotherapists in primary health care for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.The incumbent will work under broad guidance of the chief investigator Professor Sarah Dennis and senior academics from four other Australian universities.Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Actively contributing to research activities, designing research protocols, preparing applications for ethics review and registration of the clinical trial, undertaking core aspects of research work and contributing to analysis and key findings.
  • Contribute and support project management by completing administrative activities as requested.
  • Develop and implement the specific data collection tools and processes for the project, working in close collaboration with other members of the team.
  • Provide technical knowledge and expertise to the Chief Investigator, Senior Research Academics and the research team to support the research and clinical trial requirements for the work area.
  • Contribute to stakeholder and partner engagement in research and translation.
  • Collate and record research data, draws insights and analyses, and reports information from the research undertaken.
  • Provide technical expertise to the Research team to guide the development and performance of the study procedures and outcome assessment.
  • Facilitate a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled.
About you
  • Tertiary qualifications with at least Honours, preferably a Master's degree or PhD in appropriate health discipline with relevant experience in related field
  • proven experience in project management
  • extensive experience in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in using research protocols, experimental design, ethics submissions and grant applications
  • working understanding and current knowledge of relevant aspects of the Work Health and Safety Policy and relevant legislation (including Safe Laboratory Practices for roles based in Laboratory)
  • proven experience working in clinical trails
  • previous experience working with clinicians and stakeholders and working with the local primary healthcare networks
  • hold an NSW driver's license.
