Our IT Networking Career Program currently has an opening for a new candidate in the Southside Region of Brisbane that wishes to embark on a paid, on-site position for up to 5 days per week during school terms. Very complimentary for University students currently studying IT who can provide from 1 to 3 days per week during school terms.
Ideally suited to those people who have a strong interest in IT Networking or Troubleshooting who wish to start a career. Prior Experience and qualifications will be considered but are not necessary.
Think of our program as being a learning course that doesn't cost you money and HECS Debt, but actually pays you instead!
Role description and duties
The Career Program provides Level 1 and Level 2 IT Network support to QLD Education schools located in the Greater Brisbane Region. After the initial training phase (Which can be anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks depending solely upon the efforts and abilities of the individual) you will start out on an hourly part-time basis at $28.63/hr including Super and annual/personal leave entitlements.
Initially during your training phase, you will be accompanied by a Mentor chosen from our team of experienced Network Technicians until deemed capable of providing effective network support un-assisted. At all times during the program you will have ready access to all other trainees and technicians located at schools throughout Brisbane.
Full details of the Program will be provided during the round 1 interviews.
Skills and Experience
There are some key requirements you must have in order to fulfil this role;
1. You must be fully fluent in verbal and written English.
2. You must have a strong desire to start a career in IT.
3. You must have a willing and helpful attitude.
4. You must be a great and positive communicator.
5. You must be a reliable, honest and self motivated individual.
6. You must be able to pass the security requirements to obtain a QLD Government Blue Card licence.
7. You must have a valid Australian Drivers Licence and full access to a Registered Vehicle.
8. You must be an Australian Citizen
Preferential skills and abilities
The following attributes, skills, qualifications and experience whilst not required, will be treated with preference (In no particular order);
Ability to multi task and prioritise whilst ensuring care and accuracy in outcome.
Industry Qualifications in IT.
Education Qld Orange Card qualification.
Average to high fitness level - A lot of fast walking is involved as schools are large places
Prior experience in the hospitality\customer service sector.
Experience in desktop imaging, basic deployments, printer management, general desktop fault finding and troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
