We are looking to appoint a Trainee Operator to our team at Bayswater Power Station. This is a permanent role with an on-call element so we are looking for someone who lives locally. As a Trainee Operator with Worley you will work closely with our existing team who will train you in the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the various handling facilities at Bayswater Power Station.

What you’ll do
- Operate and assist with the operation of all assigned plant in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform diagnostic testing of equipment failures, rectify problems and recommend solutions to improve equipment reliability
- Ensure plant and equipment is maintained in optimum operating condition and capable of meeting the required production targets of the business
- Coordinate the preparation, issuing, authorisation and return of Permits To work and the return to service of isolated plant
- Perform emergency operations for plant unable to be operated from the Control Room
- Report and document defects, operational problems and faults immediately for corrective action, ensuring the completion of operational logs
- There is an on-call element to this role in case of emergencies
- An unwavering commitment to work and operate within a Zero Harm culture
- Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification (Electrical with HV switching certificate is preferred)
- Experience in an operational environment within heavy industry
- Thorough understanding of PLC’s and Plant Control Systems
- High level diagnostic and fault finding capabilities
- Knowledge of Power Plant Operations & Maintenance is highly desirable
- Prioritising & organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
