The Role:
This Pathology Collection Traineeship will give you the chance to work with a number of experienced collectors to pick up all the tricks of the trade, all while completing a nationally recognised qualification. You’ll be learning and earning!
On the job you’ll work alongside qualified collectors – assisting with tasks like collections, stock control, storage, cleaning, equipment and laboratory maintenance, testing and general administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance and supervision of the qualified team, you will be required to carry out collections, stock control, storage, cleaning, equipment and laboratory maintenance, testing and general administrative tasks.
Ideal Candidate Traits:
1. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Aboriginality is considered a genuine
qualification for this position and is authorised under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
2. A willingness and desire to undertake on the job training in Collections or Laboratory within a Hospital.
3. A willingness and the ability to attend the Registered Training organisation and work towards obtaining a
Certificate III in Pathology Collections/ Pathology Assistance
4. Ability to maintain high quality work output while managing competing priorities.
5. Customer service skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and
clinical staff.
6. Data entry skills including high attention to detail.
