Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook. Since 2005, we have grown to become one of the largest surface mines in Australia, whilst continuing to foster a culture underpinned by safety, achievement, flexibility and teamwork to improve the skills of each and every person on the mine site every day. As part of the Rolleston Coal Production Team, reporting to the OCE/Supervisor, you will be required to initially work Monday to Friday dayshift roster moving to 7 day/night rotating roster, achieving a common goal to deliver quality products for our business by the development of your understanding and implementation of the mining process.
This opportunity will provide:
- Standard 11 Generic Induction
- Glencore Generic Induction (GGI)
- RII30115 Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations
- Nationally recognised training qualification
- Formalises the responsibilities of production operation in open cut mines and quarries
- Develops trainees use of discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or implementing contingency measures
- Establishes trainees with a broad range of skill application from machine operation, communication, first aid, risk-control and work health and safety awareness.
- Equipment Training and Experience: Cat 789, 793, 795 electric trucks, manual trucks and other skills and tickets as per job requirements and trainee development level
