The Role

The Dyno Nobel Moranbah Plant is a fully-integrated Ammonium Nitrate complex based in Central Queensland. The facility comprises ammonia, nitric acid and ammonium nitrate plants plus infrastructure, utilities, power generation and housing to support the permanent workforce.

Reporting to the Shift Team Leader you will learn all aspects of chemical manufacturing within a major hazard facility, health and safety systems and how to hit quality targets in a team environment. 

Additionally, you will be required to resolve operating issues as they arise utilising consultative methods across site departments. 

The site has a strong focus on continuous improvement, and will seek input from all levels to contribute to best practice. On a daily basis, this role will see you:

• Participate in departmental safety programs
• Carry out outside production activities, including the monitoring of plant conditions, intervening if necessary
• Perform minor maintenance on plant and equipment if competent to do so and assist in maintenance activities to aid in the timely restart of the plant.
• Participate in execution of start-up and shutdown of plant when required
• Administer basic tests to assist process control ensuring quality and service standards are achieved

About You

You may come from another industry entirely but If you can display problem solving skills, the ability to work well in a team environment and you have the ability to take ownership of your work, you may have what it takes to be one of our next Production Technicians.

The training will consist of a combination of theory, practical and field work - being mentored by industry professionals and the assistance of a dedicated trainer.  

Other desired skills and experience Include:

• Problem solving and the ability to keep calm under pressure
• Demonstrated capability in working collaboratively and working to tight deadlines.
• Basic computer literacy skills
• Strong ability to work autonomously with limited supervision 

The traineeship will start on a casual basis, whilst you learn all the aspects of the role, then put into a talent pool for future employment with the company.
