We are offering a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in strategic planning while completing your tertiary studies.
Reporting to Council’s Coordinator Strategic Planning, you will be a member of a professional team motivated to assist in the delivery of sound strategic and environmental planning outcomes for Council and the community. The role works as part of a multi-disciplinary team and provides the opportunity to be mentored by professional planners in a fast-paced and exciting working environment.
In this role you will learn on the job and you will complete the study component of the degree primarily outside standard working hours. All costs associated with compulsory course fees and requirements whilst undertaking this course with Council will form part of your support in this role. Upon successful completion or your tertiary studies and subject to demonstrated competence, the position has the opportunity to progress to a Graduate Strategic Planner role.
To be successful you will bring

- Currently enrolled in tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Environmental Planning or related field.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proven competency with the Microsoft Office suite, namely Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team that has a focus on delivering quality customer service within set timeframes.
The rewards
- An annual salary range of $40,500 to $60,200 (plus 11% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
