About the Role
The primary role of this position is to ensure TasRail employees and contractors are competent to perform infrastructure maintenance and Safeworking tasks through education, on the job training, assessment, workplace evaluation and compliance checking, and to promote a safety culture throughout the organisation.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
The key accountabilities of the position include:
- Deliver both ‘on-job’ and ‘off-job’ training and competency assessments;
- Provide quality training and assessment to ensure that employees and employees of contractors develop and maintain the required competencies and knowledge according to role requirements;
- Assist with the development and maintenance of training and assessment tools, ensuring compliance with endorsed standards;
- Participate in assessment validations and reviews when required;
- Contribute to the quality of learning and development processes and communication;
- Administer assessment checklists in accordance with RTO Agreement;
- Maintain currency in all work instructions and standard operating procedures;
- Complete recertification checklists as per Managing Rail Safety Worker policy; and
- Liaise with the Capability Lead to provide information, reporting and advice on operational issues.
Qualifications:
- Currently hold minimum TAE40116 or willing to obtain a TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment while learning on-the-job under supervision.
- Demonstrated history of delivering “off job and on job training” (Desirable);
- Minimum Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure (Essential) or other TLI Rail related units of competency (Desirable)
- Minimum 3-year experience working in rail infrastructure (Essential)
- Current road vehicle driver’s license (Essential)
- MR license (Desirable)
- Proficient computer skills;
- Be medically fit to obtain a Category 1 in National Rail Safety Health Assessment (Essential)
