Metro Academy is dedicated to building and maintaining exceptional skills and capability in the rail industry. As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), we offer comprehensive training opportunities to new entrants and existing rail workers across Australia. The Training ManagerPassenger Experience position will work closely with the General Manager Learning & Development, Head of Training & Academic Programs, RTO Manager and leaders across Train Services, Operational Readiness and Talent Acquisition to deliver a training program that directly support Metro’s commitment to provide exceptional passenger delivery.

The position will build and maintain positive ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the operational effectiveness, compliance, and reputation for Metro Academy and MTM. This program is an integral part of Metro Trains Melbourne’s (MTM) enterprise Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and requires a focus on compliance and governance, and quality learning outcomes that directly align to Metro’s strategic, operational and safety objectives.

About The Role  

We are currently seeking an experienced Training Manager to work hand in hand with Senior Leaders and RTO Managers to deliver training highlighting exceptional customer service to drive Metro’s commitment to our passengers.

This role will build strong relationships with our internal and external stakeholders to provide improvements on operational effectiveness with a focus on compliance and governance to this program to align with RTO requirements to align with Metro’s policies and safety objectives.

 Key Accountabilities

  

  • You’ll lead and mentor Senior Training Officers to deliver learning design, training and trainee management to match business needs
  • Review and look at continuous improvements the quality of training to ensure best practices are met to support business needs and are compliant against regulatory requirements
  • Oversee performance that is compliant with relevant standards, regulated through the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR), and/or Victorian Registrations Qualifications Authority (VRQA).
  • Management of the Passenger Experience Leading Station Assistant (TLI33121 Certificate III in Rail Customer Service) and the 22599VIC Certificate III in Public Transport Customer Service and Compliance programs with a focus on delivering compliant training programs.

About You   

  • Extensive knowledge of adult learning principles, teaching methodologies, curriculum development and evaluation processes.   
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment TAE40122 or ability to obtain.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of adult learning principles, teaching methodologies, curriculum development and evaluation processes.
  • Experience in the development and integration of training programs in a safety critical transport related environment (rail, maritime, aviation).
  • Demonstrable high level interpersonal engagement experience with the ability to positively interact with all levels of employees, union officials and other external stakeholders.
  • Sound experience in performance management process, employee relations issues and recruitment and selection process.
