Job description

We are currently looking for Training Specialist.   The candidate rate is $80-$90/hr. The tenure will be for approximately 12 months, and we are looking for an immediate start.

Location: Worsley– Drive in, Drive out

Roster: flexible days, but needs to work 9days a fortnight

Purpose:
Partners with the assigned business unit to manage effective learning and development outcomes for employees and contractors. Develop, deliver, and continuously improve a leading-edge training program tailored for Worsley employees to enable them to reach their full potential. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Represent the Worsley Training Department and act as a local SME (Subject Matter Expert) for allocated work areas and/or assigned activities in relation to the Worsley Training Scheme.
  • Provide sitewide LMS support in reporting, data gathering and competency profile compliance for allocated work areas / and or activities to achieve Service Level Agreement (SLA) key performance indicators.
  • Assist where required periodic observations, audits and other monitoring to ensure that all training and assessment activities are conducted in accordance with the site Training Scheme.
  • Provide LN&T Guidance and feedback to trainer and assessors, supervisors, and the whole training team.
  • Provide feedback in the development, review and validation training materials, assessment processes and competency requirements to ensure quality learning outcomes.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) to the learning, development and assessment of trainees.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing training programs aligned to Australian Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF) qualifications.
  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to the standards for Registered Training Organisations.
  • Applies a broad range of training and assessment methods and styles to effectively address learning gaps.
  • Safely design, deliver and continuously improve the Worsley training program considering employee levels, needs and work programs.
  • Develop innovative methods to enable employees to confidently complete on-line training programs.
  • Participate as an active member of the Worsley Trainer / Assessor consultative group and contribute constructively to all forums to align and maintain clear standards, systems, processes and practices.
  • Promote a continuous improvement philosophy in all aspects learning and development.
  • Support the implementation of the Worsley Training Scheme and its associated systems within the allocated work areas / and or assigned activities.
  • Engage and support the business plan, implement and enhance induction and technical training packages including online, face to face, simulation and on the job.
  • Deliver workplace training and conduct assessments for key stakeholders in your department and across site in accordance with your defined scope of practice.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain the relevant training profiles and provide guidance to stakeholders to achieve compliance. Conduct Training needs analysis as required and support line leaders in effectively implementing training plans.
  • Ensure records of evidence are completely adequately and submitted in accordance with South32 Training Standard and Worsley Training Scheme.
  • Contribute to ensuring records management, governance and compliance audits are completed regularly and actions to improve are recorded and closed out in Global 360
  • Actively participate in ongoing professional development to increase skills mix and capability of the Structured Training Team. Provide cross training, coaching and mentoring to Peers to openly share knowledge, learning and improve Worsley’s safety culture and performance
  • Ability to partner with the appointed training vendor and delivery RTO accredited training in accordance with the auspice agreement.
  • E-learning creation/reviews/maintenance/improvements
  • Bis (BisTrainer is our LMS system) systems maintenance
    • Form creations
    • CPK build
    • Online learning
    • VOC form build
  • Marketing/communications including creation of handbooks, operator planners, study plans, posters, handouts etc as required
  • Updating classroom facilitated presentations
  • Refinery induction
  • Converting classroom assessments to online
  • Device implementation (rolling tablets out to area coaches and BBM)
  • Overseeing admin team in regard to reception and daily tasks
  • Building eLearning design guidelines
  • LSED reporting/updating SF
 
 
Qualifications, Skills and experience:
 
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • A Graduate Diploma in Adult language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice or Diploma/Bachelor of Education would be highly desirable
  • A solid background in design and delivery of training packages tailored for learners at all levels
  • Ability to develop and tailor engaging education packages and techniques to suit employees workplace needs
  • Excellent record keeping, planning, project and time management skills
  • Minimum of 5 years’ administration/coordination experience
  • Experience working in a similar role on a mine site (desired)
  • Experience planning and scheduling activities for a medium to large scale operation, with varying rosters and shift patterns.
  • Superior communication, coordination and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present information in an engaging and effective manner, across all levels of the organisation
  • Sound computer skills including Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with medium and largescale organisational change efforts.
  • Ability to approach challenges with a positive attitudeDemonstrated experience and qualifications coordinating and delivering training and training packages.
