Overview
Become a valued member of our Community Health Transitional Care Program team, making a real difference in the lives of patients and their families.
This position offers an opportunity to provide nursing and/or midwifery services across diverse healthcare settings, leveraging both experience and further education to progress from competent to proficient practice. The role entails taking responsibility for personal practice standards, delegated tasks, and mentoring less experienced staff. Additionally, support is provided to the Nursing/Midwifery Unit Manager in guiding and leading nursing/midwifery teams within the ward/unit/service. Responsibilities include promoting care continuity, facilitating practice changes, and assisting in various management functions such as performance management, recruitment, rostering, and financial planning.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision
- Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the clinical setting
Essential Criteria
- Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
- Minimum 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience
- Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses
