The Role:

This role differs from the standard disability Support Worker role. This role specialises in transitioning a diverse range of participants into Songbird’s support. These participants will require both high physical and high behavioural support. Experience in these supports is a requirement for this role. 

This casual position is ideal for seasoned disability support experts who thrive in high-intensity support environments and are well-versed in delivering top-quality care in line with NDIS quality guidelines.

You'll be responsible for transitioning participants with diverse needs, including those with high behavioural and physical support requirements during their transition into Songbird’s regular support. 

The role will be provided with stable hours on an ongoing basis with the flexibility to pick up extra shifts where available. This role will be paid at a higher pay point based on the extra responsibilities expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate seamless transitions for new participants into Songbird's services.
  • Provide high-intensity support in accordance with NDIS quality guidelines.
  • Utilise your extensive industry experience to work effectively with participants of varying needs, including high behavioural and physical support requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with our team to ensure participant goals are met and exceeded.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and communication to ensure the highest standards of care.

Do you have?

  • You have a passion for enriching the lives of people with a disability. 
  • Minimum 3 years of disability, aged care or nursing experience. 
  • Experience delivering support to participants with high behaviours and high physical needs. 
  • Flexibility to pick up shifts at short notice.
  • Experience in client risk assessments and mitigation. 
  • A Certificate III or higher in Disability, Individual Support or Aged Care, or be enrolled in your second year of study towards your higher qualification in a relevant field (required).
  • A Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (required).
  • NDIS Worker Screen Check (required).
  • Valid Australian Driver Licence (Red Provisional – minimum) (required).
