About us:

We pride ourselves on looking after our people and putting them first. Our mission is to bring everyone the chance to live the life that they want, and that includes our employees.
About the Initial Transitional Support (ITS) Service:
The service aims to deliver evidenced-based interventions targeting the risk of re offending and supporting the period of transition from custody to community. ITS is directly linked to a client’s case plan and provides up to 12 weeks post-release Support Services. The ITS service assists to connect clients with mainstream community services that address the person’s criminogenic needs and increase their capacity to successfully reintegrate back into the community.
ITS targets higher risk offenders who are being, or have recently been, released from custody and are subject to supervision by Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) in the community. This group of offenders experience many barriers to reintegration following release from custody, including (but not limited to): housing availability and affordability; alcohol and other drug dependencies, access to mental health services, education and employment opportunities. The ITS program assists clients to remain in the community by reducing the risk of re-offending through linkages to appropriate wrap-around services and programs.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day service provision, ensuring the highest quality evidence-informed support for clients.
- Providing access and linkages to high-quality post-release Support Services and deliver innovative intervention services that support reintegration back to the community following release from custody,
- Deliver targeted interventions that support CSNSW’s case plan, including provision of outreach support to ensure sustainable community reintegration and Transitional Support.
- Improve the immediate transition period following release by assisting clients to address a wide range of issues directly related to their offending behaviour (criminogenic needs).
- Operate within an evidence-informed, strengths-based case management framework using the principles of Risk, Needs, Responsivity,
- Provide a culturally safe, sensitive and appropriate service for all program clients,
- Establish links with mainstream and specialist services/programs to enhance clients’ access to services, address identified risk factors and increase capacity to engage in community life including culturally and gender-appropriate services and opportunities.
