The Role
As the Transport and Logistics Co-ordinator, you will sit within the Transport & Assets division alongside 7 other members of the team who report directly to the Procurement Manager and sit alongside a wider larger team as the business has numerous divisions under one roof.
Duties of the role include:
Reviewing and approving transport schedules as well as daily transport activities to ensure they're in line with those schedules
Managing the overall performance of transport activities to achieve business objectives as well as regulatory and policy/procedure compliance
Developing, reviewing, and recommending driver sub-contractor supplier terms and conditions for approval
Ensure effective and efficient internal transport management and schedules are developed.
Identifying and evaluating opportunities for growth and performance efficiency/enhancement in relation to transport activities
Map out and coordinate the movement of our transport & assets between various sites across the Pilbara.
Manage asset movements between sites using our internal transport solutions.
Look at opportunities to grow our transport division with key customers.
Ensure complete compliance with our HVA accreditation and chain of responsibility obligations at all times.
Look at optimising our transport processes to drive efficiencies.
Ensuring a compliant vehicle and equipment maintenance program/schedule is implemented to support the Company’s safety compliance program.
Create Forecast v Allocation reports based on projected asset requirements over 3, 6 and 12-month periods and execute a delivery plan based on those reports.
Managing and maintaining an audit process for assets across all works to ensure they meet client safety standards of entry for suppliers and assets associated with Transport and Logistics arm of the business
Manage, coordinate compliant and cost-effective international freight and shipping movements
Manage and forecast of road and ship movements between sites and facilities
Manage and optimise all logistics and transport requirements and requests
Optimise processes so that they are sustainable and scalable considering best practice for logistics and transport movements within the business (from request to confirmation)
Actively identify and participate in logistic management and metric data improvement initiatives for the advancement of organisational logistic practices
Lead the organisation in logistics and transport culture, embracing innovative ideas
What you need
To be successful in this role you must have:
Have excellent communication, both written and verbal.
Previous experience within the mining & resources sector.
Knowledge and awareness of materials and relevant industry specifications.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of materials management systems.
Ability to remain calm & perform under pressure
Self-motivation & initiative
Strong work ethic
Ability to work with autonomy
As this role requires you to be mobile and visit sites (1-2 per month) you will also need to be capable of:
Wearing full PPE
Access and egress on stairways/ladders & scaffolding
Walking distances across site work areas on uneven ground
Occasional manual handling & lifting (up to 20kg)
Working in an environment that will expose them to low to moderate noise levels
The successful candidate must hold a C class manual drivers license
