Transport - Crane Operator

ROLE OBJECTIVE

The Transport - Crane Operator will perform hands-on duties including operating our FRANNA, loading, unloading, and storing loads as required, and performing basic rigging and general laboring duties as required by the Yard Supervisor .  You will be mechanically minded and safety conscious, with a strong attention to detail, and solutions-focused mindset, maintain high standards of the yard and its operations at all times.

Legend Logistics Australia is a division of the Singapore based Legend Group, (established in 2012), a highly specialised global expert for specialised logistics, container and iso tank transport, offering major project solutions with an innovative and unique approach.

Offering freight forwarding and project logistics solutions tailored for their local and import requirements for clients all over the world. 

As part of ongoing development, in early 2019, the directors established a project logistics division based in Australia.

The highly professional and selected management team, having secured successful long-term contracts, are undertaking extensive recruitment to secure the right team to deliver on these tier 1 contracts, with an emphasis on innovation, solution focus, servicing customers to an exceptional standard, and deliverables above market value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, but not limited to:-

• Provide professional services in rigging and crane operation of these three areas:
  • Receive and unload
  • Storage and warehousing
  • Re-load and secure loads for transport
• Work in collaboration with the transport team and subcontractors
• Ensure the yard is always of the highest standard
• Ensure a high-level standard of paperwork and procedures
• Assist with the maintenance of the crane and yard vehicles
• Perform a daily prestart and fill in repair reports as required
• All general labouring duties associated with ensuring a high functioning yard
• Adhere to and foster high safety standards and a positive work culture

KEY COMPETENCY AND SKILLS: but not limited to-

• Strong focus on safety, effective communication, and teamwork.
• Experience within the Transport and Logistics Industries and working in a similar/equivalent role
• Willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure high levels of site safety, efficiency, and deliverables to our clients 
• Licenses and tickets
  • Current driver’s license
  • Crane operators’ ticket (CN minimum)
  • Basic Riggers license (RB)
  • HR license 
  • Forklift (LF) ticket and experience, preferred, but not essential
• Ability to be flexible and work in a constantly changing environment
• Solution orientated and positive attitude
• Good communications skills, both verbal and written
• Competent with OH&S rules and regulations
• The ability to work autonomously and part of a team
• Work within the team to foster a positive culture
