Excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Transport Lead / Supervisor to join our Wholesale Team in Derrimut VIC! This role is a great opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of our Company.
As a Transport Lead / Supervisor you will ensure that our transport is operating in an efficient, safe and compliant manner by overseeing all aspects of transport operations, from vehicle and route optimisation to vehicle maintenance, driver management, and adherence to regulations.
Duties performed will include:
- Develop comprehensive plans for the transportation of goods, considering factors such as cost, scheduling, and vehicle capacity
- Proactively identify and address issues that may impact transportation schedules or efficiency
- Monitor traffic conditions and adjust routes as needed to ensure timely deliveries. Monitor TMS dashboard and proactively communicate any impact to the plan to the relevant stakeholders
- Ensure the coordination of the transportation of products from suppliers and their agents and deliveries to Lynch Group customers is efficient
- Develop and maintain agreed delivery methods for all deliveries, having the transport provider / team kept up to date with any changes
- Review job allocation rules in TMS to ensure the most optimal drivers are selected
- Utilise key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and enhance the performance of transport operations
- Establishing and evaluating appropriate performance standards and quality in line with benchmarks and business objectives and incorporating these into the system where possible
About You:
- Proficient in scheduling, routing, logistics, and dispatching for efficient movement of goods or people through the use of transport management systems
- Knowledge of relevant transportation laws and regulations (e.g., NHVL)
- Ability to manage vehicle maintenance schedules, identify basic issues, and coordinate repairs
- Ability to analyse situations, identify problems, and make sound decisions under pressure
- Excellent at prioritizing tasks, managing multiple deadlines, and keeping operations running smoothly
- Strong safety focus with the ability to implement and enforce safety protocols
- Ability to build rapport and manage potentially difficult situations with drivers or clients
