Responsible for QLD's entire Transport Operations, including permanent drivers to contracted operations. This position is accountable for on time safe delivery and transport aligned as per the budgeted plan.
Additional responsibilities in this role also include:
- This position will provide leadership and direction for Transport Operations - QLD
- Manage transport to improve budgeted unit costs whilst meeting industry and regulator safety and customer service standards
- You will improve profitability through benchmarking, reviewing operations to ensure optimum operating costs
- Deploy the Transport Safety Action Plan as directed from the Elgas strategy and the Transport Safety Management Plan including ensuring all incidents and near misses are reported and improvement actions are completed
- In addition, you will maintain compliance to the DEL Chapters
- Furthermore, you ensure the fleet maintenance is aligned with the required plans for the site
- Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) is in place and sustainably operating to meet regulatory expectations
- Preparation, submission and approval of cost of sales budget in conjunction with other parties is part of the role as well as completion of various monthly reports as per the agreed timetable
- Recruiting, training, developing, motivating and organizing people consistent with Elgas philosophies and goals. whilst ensuring training requirements are met for all employees and contractors
- Renegotiating and monitoring contractor agreements in conjunction with the Regional Manager and relevant National Managers
- You will ensure industrial relations harmony is maintained.
Skills and experience we are looking for:
- Tertiary Qualification in transport and/or logistics
- 5 years+ in LPG or Petroleum Industry or Multi-Drop Transport Management with DG focus to the fore
- Proven ability to manage a remote team
- Experience in transport management with detailed cost management
- Change management, Computer literacy, Communications, Negotiation & Conflict Resolution
