This position requires a strategic thinker who excels in a fast-paced environment. This hands-on role requires a strong communicator with exceptional customer service skills and the ability to adapt swiftly to changing circumstances.
Reporting to the Managing Director and working along side another experienced Transport Scheduler, you will be responsible for maintaining the efficient and productive day to day operations of the fleet, including quoting, scheduling and ensuring outcomes are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Fleet includes 16 trucks, ranging from rigid tilt trays to prime movers with various trailer combinations (super tilt, side loader, low loaders, flat top).
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee scheduling and fleet utilisation via application VWork to maximise profitability
- Organise and coordinate daily (planned and urgent) activities to ensure that work is performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with customer requirements, procedures and relevant legislation
- Coordinate rosters, load plans and other day-to-day operations in line with industry requirement
- Build and maintain an effective and successful relationships with clients and all key stakeholders
- Maintain requirement for Mainroads Heavy Vehicle Accreditation
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a transport operations environment (desirable 3 years+)
- A strong understanding of fatigue management, load restraint and mass management
- Strong work ethic with a passion for industry and commitment to continuous improvement
- Thrives under pressure and excels in meeting tight deadlines, including adapting to changing demands
- Effective planning, organising and time management skills
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
- Solid knowledge of current Main Roads Regulations
- Proficiency in high-level computer skills with an appetite for learning new systems
