AMAG is offering an opportunity for a position with our team in Brisbane as a Transportation Engineer working with our AI/ML computer-vision based transportation software.
Responsibilities
Technical Expertise & Project Support
- Assist or act as the lead engineer and/or project manager for various public and private sector clients
- Assist senior team members in preparing proposals and expressions of interest considering the methodology for undertaking potential projects
- Act as the technical expert to support sales deployment and customer success for AMAG clients
- Plan, organise, and carry out project work, adhering to schedules, budgets, and objectives
- Prepare technical reports, including technical specifications
- Write and review/approve reports and specifications and make presentations
- Provide feedback and instructions to team members and relevant updates to clients
- Advise on meeting technical requirements and resolving issues that may arise
- Assist in responding to prospect and customer security PII data communications and signal control hardware and software communications
- Complete pre-processing of prospect videos to determine and provide feedback on video quality and viability.
- Perform quality control/quality assurance of work
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate with clients, contractors, public agencies, and other stakeholders
- Assist with the preparation and submission of responses to proposals for work by leading and composing the technical content
- Support sales in leading product demonstrations and technical discussions during the pre-sales process
- Provide feedback to the product and sales teams on market feature and function requirements
- Assist in managing client relationships, including business and new client development
- Collaborate with the business development team and senior management to generate quality leads
- Play an instrumental role in pitching and representing the company with clients
- Generate new clients and build customer loyalty in line with company objectives
- Participate in internal and external meetings
Requirements
Technical & Analytical
- Experience representing and supporting technical products that serve the transport industry
- Base understanding and willingness to develop a deeper understanding of road safety, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO), and Connected Vehicles
- Basic knowledge of traffic and signal control infrastructure
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong organisational and project management skills
Communication
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills (English – a second language is an asset)
- Ability to look at a problem, devise ways to resolve it, and communicate observations to team members
- Ability to work well with others and independently without direct supervision
- Ability to manage a dynamic work schedule, including collaboration across international time zones
- Project management certification (considered an asset)
Education & Experience
- Undergraduate University degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Professional Engineer licensed with a U.S. and/or Canadian governing body
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Civil Engineering or related field, including Transportation Engineering, road safety engineering, traffic operations management, and/or planning
