The Tasmanian Walking Company (TWC) have been walking for over 30 years, offering amazing wilderness experiences to our guests in some of Tasmania's most special and remote wilderness locations. Whilst our roots lie in Tassie, we operate on mainland Australia as The Australian Walking Company (AWC) and are excited to be experiencing a growth phase in the business as we introduce a number of new walks.

About the Role:

This is a full-time permanent position, based in our Hobart office in the heart of the CBD.

The Trip Support Officer reports to our Regional Experience Manager and is crucial to the smooth operation of trips. They provide frontline support, acting as a key link between various operational functions and the execution of each trip. Their duties include managing scheduled support tasks, handling day-of-operations activities, and ensuring all trips run flawlessly.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct Trip Support: Provide on-site assistance to all trips, addressing planned and scheduled support functions, as well as overseeing Returns Hosts and delivering training requirements.
  • Guest Information Management: Acting on guest information, including dietary restrictions, transportation details, and medical requirements and distributing via trip notes to guest facing staff.
  • Deliveries and Stock Management: Order, receive, store, and unpack deliveries efficiently and accurately.
  • Gear and Equipment Management: Monitor and report broken or damaged gear and equipment.
  • Operational Support: Source and procure operational items and requirements as requested, including ordering, and managing office supplies.

We are looking for a detail orientated and collaborative Trip Support Officer who is adaptive, process driven, highly organised, and possesses a growth mindset with the ability to problem solve to achieve operational success.

In addition, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in an operational role, preferably within the hospitality and tourism industry, with proven knowledge of trip coordination processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
  • Experience using HRIS and rostering systems (Employment Hero)
  • Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021).
  • Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety (SITXFSA005) + Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices (SITXFSA006) OR SITSS00069 (Food Safety Supervision Sill Set)
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address rostering challenges proactively.
  • Exceptional organisational, and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by operational needs.
