We are pleased to invite applications for the position of UH-60M Software Assurance Officer to join our UH-60M Black Hawk team.
Working in collaboration with the System Safety Program Manager - UH-60M, the UH-60M Software Assurance Officer shall:
- Assess impacts of Software Changes on how the Australian Defence Force (ADF) intend to utilise the associated functionality, and in doing so, advise on any safety impacts from an operational perspective
- Manage the Software Engineering Change Management Process, including ensuring effective engagement with the Regulator
- Evaluate Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Change Notices (CNs), Deficiency Reports, Mishaps, and Requests for Deviations and Waivers from a Software Assurance perspective.
- Conduct Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) on proposed changes to Software Functionality, including the provision of advice associated with any potential for Systematic Common Mode Failures.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) input to Sub-System Hazard Analysis (SSHA) and System Hazard Analysis (SHA) activities as and when required.
- Assess impact of Software Changes on Operating and Support Hazards through application of Operating and Support Hazard Analysis (O&SHA)
- Ensure alignment of the Software Certification Baseline and associated Safety Analysis that supports the Safety Case
- Support In-Service Support query answering and on-site Software Support
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Significant evidence of formally acquired knowledge and experience in the application of Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) techniques in support of the derivation of Software Assurance Requirements.
- Minimum AQF Level 5 qualifications in aircraft / avionics maintenance or avionics / software engineering.
- Extensive experience with maintenance or engineering involving aviation software
Desirable
- Exposure to Defence Aviation System Safety Programs / Software Development Programs.
- Experience with aviation software engineering on US Military certified aircraft types
- Exposure to the application of recognised industry standards that support software safety assurance e.g. RTCA DO-178C and IEC 61508. Including understanding of varying levels of assurance required for varying levels of Software Criticality
