The Role

The Undergraduate Accountant role is important to the effective functioning of the finance department. You will be required to assist with the end-to-end Accounts Receivable of Customers and Revenues, Accounts payables, including bank reconciliations and credit cards. Good working knowledge of Xero, Streem CRM and an effective grasp of Excel is needed.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable: ensuring that weekly and monthly billing is carried out correctly per SLA’s
• Customer and supplier maintenance
• Manage relationships with external customers, suppliers, and stakeholders of Streem
• Accounts Payable: entering bills in the system and managing weekly payments
• Assisting with End of Month Reporting on Xero
• Bank and credit card reconciliation
• Support the ongoing development of financial policies, management systems, controls and reporting tools to enhance financial and operational controls throughout the organisation
• Adhere to delegation of authority procedures;
• Assist the Executives of the business with the provision of financial information as required.
• Assist the CFO with process improvement projects, including reducing the number of days in the month end reporting process, cost reduction and quality programs;

What skills and experience you'll need:

• Australian permanent residency or be an Australian citizen
• Some experience in an accounting position
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Sound customer service skills with the ability to take initiative and adapt to changing situations
• Proactive and enjoys a fast-paced environment
• Have a keen interest in the Australian media landscape
• Positive can-do attitude, energetic, and media-savvy
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines while maintaining a sharp attention to detail
• Some experience working with an ERP including Xero.
• Sound understanding of Excel, Project Management Tools/CRM tools
• Currently studying towards a degree in Business or Accounting
• Media/news/content experience highly advantageous
