Fitzroy Mining Operations is a new force in the Queensland metallurgical coal mining industry with a portfolio of existing operations and a pipeline of growth projects.  In our short history, we have successfully reinvigorated operations at Carborough Downs underground mine, breathed new life into the Broadlea open cut and our next exciting venture is the Greenfields underground longwall and bord and pillar - Ironbark No.1 project, the newest longwall mine in Australia.

About the roles

Underground Coal Mine Maintenance Fitters wanted!

We currently have an exciting and rewarding opportunities for Experienced Underground Maintenance Fitters for Fitzroy's new IronBark No.1 Coal Mine. You will be working in either Development, Outbye or  Longwall. 

Key Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Working safely and efficiently in all associated department functions, to support the achievement of production and or maintenance targets and undertake any other tasks for the operations;
• Preparation, planning and timely execution of daily work as issued from the approved weekly schedules; 
• Ensuring that any maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with relevant coal mining legislation and requirements; 
• Contributing to the development of a safe, positive and collaborative organisational culture;

To be successful in this position we are looking for someone who is passionate about mining coal and the ideal candidate will hold:

• Significant previous experience working in Underground Coal operations. 
• Relevant Trade Qualification and Tickets.
• Standard 11 Surface & Underground 
• Demonstrated history of working safely.
• Commitment to the achievement of business goals and outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Ability to work well within a team.
