Underground Electrician

CSA Mine are looking for experienced Underground Electricians to join the team. This role will see you maintaining all areas of site in line with production and maintenance schedules. You will work in one of the world’s most iconic mining districts, which has the second highest grade copper mine in the country.

About the role:

• Maintain all aspects of site completing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with the area work management process
• Perform first response breakdown as required
• Ensure safety and reliability of all electrical equipment
• Comply with site procedures, instructions, and original equipment manufacturers specifications and limitations to ensure effective use of equipment and achievement of safe maintenance targets
• Ongoing focus on continuous improvement throughout the plant

You will have:

• 12+ months mining experience (preferable)
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence (minimum P2 or equivalent) 
• Relevant Electrical Trade Certificate with post trade experience
• Current NSW Electrical Licence (or willing to obtain)
• High commitment to a positive safety culture

Conditions:

This position is offered on a 7D7O7N7O roster. Underground Electrical positions are eligible for residential, DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane, Queensland or Sydney, New South Wales. 

If residential is the preferred commute option relocation costs and a housing subsidy will be provided to the successful candidate to assist in relocating to Cobar. Candidates interested in the DIDO or FIFO will be provided with commute single accommodation and meals at the mine camp. CSA also provides Pool & Gym Reimbursements to our employees and their dependants.

Located an eight-hour drive to Sydney, nine-hour drive to Melbourne, and a quick three-hour drive to Dubbo, Cobar is a fascinating town rich in mining heritage and natural attractions. Entertainment options include restaurants, pubs, and clubs for dining out. You will be kept busy with a bowling and golf club, rugby and rugby league teams, race club, pony club, Olympic size swimming pool, gym – and more! The town boasts beautiful parks, two reservoirs, picnic areas and playgrounds. The youth club 'Youthie' is a vibrant children’s hub with a games room, gym and weights room, squash courts, sauna, indoor stadium, outdoor basketball court and a skate park.
