Underground Mechanical Fitters - Multiple roles available!

Fantastic career opportunity available for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Rosebery in Tasmania. Reporting to the Superintendent - Mine Maintenance, this role is responsible to carry out Mechanical maintenance tasks and activities in line with planned maintenance schedules and assist in the production activities as required. This includes preventing losses, optimising plant efficiency, increasing uptime, efficiency and production and achieve overall equipment effectiveness.

This role is offered on a 7 on 7 off roster and includes night shift, residential in Rosebery or DIDO from other locations within Tasmania.

Key Accountabilities

• Adherence at all times to the MMG Code of Conduct. The code provides standards for appropriate ethical and professional behaviour. It is based on MMG’s values of Safety, Integrity, Action and Results which form the basis of, and underpin all of MMG’s business relationships.
• Maintaining equipment systems on the following: Caterpillar LHD's, Caterpillar AD60 & AD45 truck fleet, Epiroc Production and Sandvik Development drill fleet. Mine pumping and ventilation systems and mobile service equipment
• identify opportunities to improve site-wide reliability of mobile and fixed assets to meet a baseline requirements
• Accurately completing documentation including drawings and technical reports as necessary.
• Support and improve the reliability and availability of mobile and fixed plant assets by participating in programs to identify root cause of failures and the implementation of improvements.
• Assist in the development of requirements and specifications for work plans and schedules.

 Qualifications & Competencies

You have well developed technical skills and personal attributes including the following:

• Demonstrable post trade experience in breakdown and diagnostic maintenance on mining equipment
• Ability to maintain and repair to OEM specifications
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Ability to report on above in suitable formats
• Basic Computer skills: MS office
• Basic SAP maintenance skills (desirable)
• Understanding of the operational use of heavy mobile, diesel and electric hydraulic powered equipment in an underground mining environment.
• Understanding of underground mining process.
• Working knowledge of Tasmania mining regulations.
• Working knowledge of Australian standards
