The focus of the team is to design multi-line insurance solutions for our SME customers. This role reports into Head of Underwriting Services, SME Package.How you will create an impactSME Package is a strategically important product within AIG Australia, and we are seeking to invest in our team and systems to maximise the growth opportunity. In this role you will deliver service excellence to internal and external customers and drive profitable growth of SME Package, whilst always ensuring adherence to risk appetite, underwriting guidelines, and compliance standards. This is a foundational role on an underwriter career path and provides an excellent opportunity for professional learning and development.Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:
- Deliver profitable growth through achievement of financial KPIs relating to production, profitability, and expenses.
- Undertake portfolio management reviews to identify and develop action plans.
- Promote service excellence by actioning referrals and renewals within delegated authority in accordance with profit centre guidelines.
- Broker engagement – conduct visitations to principal trading partners as required in order to discuss and monitor portfolio results.
- Support and service brokers through various communication channels - electronic platforms, email, and phone.
- Contribute to the development of the SME operating model in Australia including input into improvements in operational efficiency.
- Proven background and experience in General Insurance
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial underwriting – preferably in a SME role
- Sound working knowledge of SME e-commerce platforms
- Proven track record in managing broker relationships
- High resilience and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills – particularly collaboration and engagement skills
- Sound communication skills – including written and presentation skills
- Strong team player
- Willingness and desire to learn
