You will look after operational implementation of the Underwriting strategy within risk appetite, monitoring market and risk developments, financial performance and targets and the customer experience.
What you'll do- Undertake regular underwriting guidelines reviews and changes to ensure only desirable risks are underwritten
- Ensure relevant underwriting tools (e.g. Home Insurance Building calculators) are consistently reviewed for accuracy and indexation changes, including initiating changes to maintain currency
- Support areas such as Distributions, Claims and IDR for underwriting related queries, escalating special interest queries as required
- Work closely with other areas in CCPP, Insurance Risk and CRO as relevant to ensure financial and operational risks are identified and recorded in IRIIS, with appropriate controls against them
- Undertake Consumer Portfolio's control testing program, including adherence of relevant controls in other areas such as contact centres and digital
- Manage identified breaches for Consumer Portfolio as required ensuring a responsive, coordinated and consistent approach
- Coordinate the effective reporting of UW controls to ensure leadership have the right oversight of issues/opportunities.
What you'll bring- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Business, Finance, Commerce (desirable)) and/or
- Demonstrated experience within insurance
- Demonstrated knowledge of Consumer Portfolio, Underwriting and Pricing practices/policies
