The Role
Our clinic is looking for motivated and skilled Nurse Practitioners, who are excited about new developments in treatments for various medical conditions. We are looking for NP’s who are eager to work to the full extent of their scope of practice, continue education in current best practice research and deliver high quality clinical care via tele-health to support patients and health practitioners, and prioritise the best patient outcomes. The successful applicant(s) will have excellent organisational skills, passion for thinking outside the box of conventional treatment options, using strong clinical and people management skills; and be able to work independently, as well as part of a wider collaborative medical team.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and discuss patients' health conditions, previous/current pharmacotherapy and treatment plans in collaboration with relevant health professionals.
Screen patients eligibility on adjunctive medical therapy in the form of medicinal cannabis
Prescribe or be willing to apply for authority to prescribe medicinal cannabis where able
Be able to work from home or office on set days each week, with flexibility to decide the best times and days in a part time role to start.
Regularly liaise with other health professionals regarding patient’s clinical needs and records
Write treatment notes and other clinical documentation in the relevant practice management software systems
Key Selection Criteria
- APHRA registration (and endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner)
- Completed a Masters in Nursing
- Medicare provider number (or be eligible to gain one through Medicare)
- Prescriber number (or be eligible to gain one through Medicare)
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills
- Excellent presentation and professional manner
- Current Australian Driver’s license
- Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold appropriate work visa.
