We're looking for a team player to help us deliver our street outreach program on Thursday evenings
Must be able to drive
Set up and pack down of program vans and supplies
Hand out food and blankets to people
Be patient and kind and engage in conversations, as/if they arise from prompting of our service recipients
Be a friendly face and encourage and inspire hope through your interactions with recipients and other Team Members
Assist other Team Members when required
Work with Team Leader and provide feedback or ideas or learned knowledge about homelessness issues in the area
Support and help team leader with training new Team Members
Make referrals or give our information on other services that may assist people
Work Health and Safety
Report any health and safety concerns, notifiable incidents and near misses, to Team Leader and ensure any hazards are controlled until rectified
If required or requested from team leader complete a Sol Safety hazard, incident and accident form
All volunteers are to be mindful of their own health and to take care of the health and safety of others
Other requirements
Complete The Salvation Army (TSA) Mission Volunteer registration and induction
As TSA is a Child safe organisation, we provide training in Child safe best practices as part of your induction
Complete police check
This role is a role that works with and around Children. A working with children’s/vulnerable peoples check is required for this role
Participate in all mandatory volunteer training
We recommend you wear warm and casual clothes, closed toe shoes required
