The role
We are currently seeking a Valuation Analyst to join our Sydney based team to analyse and present retail focused data from a number of sources to help GPT make informed business decisions for an 18 month contract with the possibility of a permanent placement.
The Valuation Analyst is responsible for assisting in delivering the valuation and reporting program for GPT's retail portfolio.
This role requires a broad understanding of the property sector and interacts with a range of stakeholders from across the business. In addition to supporting the delivery of valuations, the Analyst will be responsible for completing financial modelling, analysis and reporting in support of ongoing strategic initiatives of the Group.
What you will be doing
- Supporting the valuation process for the balance sheet portfolio and funds managed by the Group, including undertaking internal valuations and assisting in the management of external valuations.
- Liaising with stakeholders to manage information requirements and completion of outputs to agreed timelines.
- Completing analysis and reconciliation of valuations to prior periods and assist in the preparation of Valuation Committee Papers and bi annual Board Audit and Risk Management Committee Papers.
- Complete modelling and sensitivity analysis of asset and portfolio performance.
- Support the preparation of internal and external reporting / presentations / analysis in conjunction with key stakeholders.
- Support the valuation process for development investment proposals.
What makes you stand out
You will need a tertiary degree in either economics, property or commerce and experience in the valuation of institutional grade retail, office and/or industrial properties, with commercial valuation qualifications or memberships such as AAPI, CPV and/or RICS.
You will need an analytical mind, with the ability to solve problems, coupled with strong experience in proprietary excel based valuation modelling (e.g. Forbury, Estate Master).
With well-developed interpersonal skills, you have the ability to build rapport to establish and maintain positive and cooperative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
