VCE Legal Studies Teacher

Job Description
A terrific opportunity awaits an experience VCE Legal Studies Teacher to become part of a well-respected Catholic Secondary school in Altona North, teaching Units 1-2 as well as 7-10 Humanities, in a full-time 12 month contract with ongoing possibilities.
Key Duties

• Planning and delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons in VCE Legal Studies within the Victorian curriculum framework, covering topics such as criminal law, civil law, and Legal Studies in global contexts.
• Designing and administering assessments to measure students' understanding of legal concepts and their ability to apply legal reasoning and analysis.
• Facilitating inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage students to explore legal issues, analyse real-world scenarios, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Integrating current legal events and developments into the curriculum to keep content relevant and engaging for students.
• Assisting students in preparing for VCE Legal Studies exams, including providing study guides, practice exams, and exam strategies to help students succeed in their assessments.
• Collaborating with colleagues within the Legal Studies department and across other subject areas to share best practices, develop interdisciplinary projects, and support students' holistic development.

Skills & Experience:

• Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
• Hold a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
• Experience in VCE Legal Studies instruction
• Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years Highly developed interpersonal skills
• An understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions are essential for teaching within the Catholic system, or a preparedness to be working within this system
