Vehicle Maintenance Officer

Your new role:
A suitable candidate for this role would provide efficient Ambulance, 4WD and other vehicle mechanics, repairs and internal fit outs for the St John NT Ambulance Service and related equipment. You will be working locally in the St Johns Ambulance workshop in Winnellie.
Key Duties:
- Assist in ensuring that all ambulances, clinics and ancillary vehicles are maintained in a safe and sound mechanical/ electrical condition, and to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Assist the Vehicle build Foreman with the building of retail/fleet vehicles.
- Assist the Vehicle build Foreman with repair of retail/fleet vehicles and ensure maintenance and service records are updated to provide a reference log in line with fleet requirements.
- Maintain, at all times, a high standard of workmanship in keeping with the motor trades' profession.
- Undertake travel to other centres to ensure a similar high standard of fleet maintenance and undertake appropriate repairs as directed by the Workshop Manager.
- Inspect vehicle systems, both mechanical and electrical components, to diagnose issues accurately.
- Participate, as required, in the installation, repair and maintenance of radio communication equipment.
- Make sure the workshop is kept clean, safe and to a standard.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Experience in the vehicle body building trade of equivalent.
- Knowledge of Vehicle Management Systems
- Background in body building and accessory fitting
- Demonstrated experience in electrical 12 volt systems
- Demonstrated experience in communication systems.
- Previous experience of internal fit outs.
- NT Manual Driving Licence
- Current Ochre Card (Working with Children) or be willing to obtain one.
- National police Clearance or be willing to obtain one.
- Up-to-date Covid Immunisation record.
- You will be required to have a pre-employment medical
