Job description

Be a central part of an exciting re-development project that will result in one of the best public golf courses in Perth becoming even better.

The Venue

Collier Park golf is a thriving public golf and leisure oasis in the City of South Perth. With its relaxed family friendly atmosphere, the Venue comprises 27 phenomenal golf holes, mini golf, driving range, annual calendar of community & wellness events, café, bar and function space.

Clublinks has been contracted by the City of South Perth since 2018 to manage this beautiful Venue and we are about to embark on a HUGE new venue redevelopment. The redevelopment will include driving range upgrades, industry-leading F&B services, bigger and better café and function spaces and additional family and leisure facilities.  Truly cementing Collier Park Golf as a premium public Golf and Leisure Venue in Perth.

With this development comes the need for us to appoint an exceptionally people focussed leader to support the General Manager Collier Park Golf with day-to-day leadership and operational initiatives.

Who are we?

At Clublinks, we’re bright, bold, nimble and we like to have fun!

Clublinks delivers expert solutions to clients across the leisure, golf and residential community industries. We are a nimble and agile company with an incredibly strong record of improving our clients’ objectives, financial results and achievements. Adopting company values of "Stand Out", "Be Awesome", "Speak Up" and "Get *#it Done" we are not afraid to be different and provide innovative solutions to deliver success. Our 800+ team are based at sites in VIC, NSW, WA and QLD.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager Collier Park Golf you will hit the ground running, roll up your sleeves and join a high performing team.

With 2 direct reports and a 30+ strong team you will oversee the key business units of Golf and Hospitality and take a hands-on approach to driving wellness and community programs, events and activations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Staff management
  • Financial performance
  • Operations
  • Customer Experience
  • Workplace Health & safety
  • Facility Management
  • Business Development & Marketing

About you

You don’t have to be an expert golfer; we have plenty of those. We are looking for a standout person, a natural born leader; someone that promotes team wins over individual achievements. You can think outside of the square and will ensure we can continue to deliver outstanding service during the redevelopment phase.

Sure, you need to be comfortable working within a sport, recreation and hospitality space, spending lots of time working in beautiful surroundings but we think that’s a pretty easy ask.

We would also love you to tick all these boxes below:

  • Significant, relevant, and demonstrated experience working at management level, of a large-scale sporting and or recreation facility.
  • Proven experience in driving customer service excellence
  • Exceptional people leadership skills including developing high performing teams, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Ability to work and perform in a high paced, active environment.
  • Solid financial and business acumen.
  • Contractor and stakeholder management experience.
  • A proven history of results.
  • Current level 2 First Aid.
  • Police check and Working with Children card

And better still if you possess the points below you are even more suitable for the role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in recreation / business or similar discipline.
  • Approved Manager & Hospitality experience
  • Project management, Marketing and Business development skills.
  • Proven ability and experience to coordinate and develop community involvement/events.
  • Public / Private Golf Course experience at a management level.

If you are ready to join a progressive company who is not afraid to be different and stand out from the crowd please don’t delay, send us through your application including a cover letter detailing what you can bring to the role.

We will secure our preferred candidate as soon as possible and are aiming for the role to commence July 2024.
