ABOUT THE ROLE
The Venue Sales Executive is responsible for proactively identifying and securing new and repeat Event Business at Marvel Stadium on non-event days. With a focus on sales, relationship management, and business development, success in this role is measured by meeting or exceeding budgeted sales targets and ensuring client satisfaction.Elevate Experiences and Marvel Stadium host over 600 private events annually across the 26 purpose-built event spaces.
The Venue Sales Executive role is a fast-paced opportunity, defined by the ability to be able to manage a large pipeline of predominantly inbound opportunities, managing the sales process and converting these leads into confirmed bookings.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high-profile organisation and play a key role in launching the brand-new Marvel Stadium Precinct and Premium Spaces
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage a pipeline of new event acquisition opportunities and drive business through until contracting.
- Provide thorough handover of new contracted events to operational team for event day execution.
- Identify and obtain new opportunities for functions/business events and repeat business to Marvel Stadium's function rooms on non-event days.
- Attract, build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and potential clients.
- Ensure that operational and strategic support is provided to guests of Marvel Stadiums function rooms.
- Leverage existing client base for customer advocacy and referral of new business opportunities.
- Maintain regular customer feedback loops, ensuring sales team provides relevant customer information to key internal operations.
- Assist with the management of key commercial stakeholder relationships including Marvel Stadium, AFL Clubs, non-AFL tenants and other venue hirers.
- Support the Marvel Precinct Commercial Lead to manage and deliver budget requirements.
- Explore any commercial integration opportunities.
- Invoice clients as per contracted invoice schedule and monitor all incoming payments
OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER
Core Competencies:
- 2+ years' Experience working in a Sales capacity (Venues or Events preferred)
- Established network within the Business Events Industry
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to manage a large pipeline of concurrent opportunities
- Ability to work collaboratively and partner with sales and operational teams
- Ability to understand, manage and deliver budget requirements
- Working knowledge of Emergency Management and OHS systems
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends (if necessary)
- Experience in high volume venue operations (preferred)
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications, Industry related qualification (preferred)
- Experience working in a Venue undergoing redevelopment or construction
