Veterinary Receptionist - Gippsland Veterinary Hospital

Gippsland Veterinary Hospital is a busy mixed practice with a large team of small animal vets, production animal vets and mixed vets plus support staff. We are based in the heart of the always green and productive Macalister irrigation district in Maffra, southeast Gippsland.  

Our long-established practice includes our main hospital in Maffra as well as the Sale Vet Centre and purpose-built Gippsland Equine Hospital. We have a great client base of small animal owners who trust us with the care of their pets plus progressive dairy and beef farmers and an ever-expanding population of dedicated equine clients.  

We are on the hunt for our next superstar customer-focused Receptionist to support our skilled team on a casual basis.   

 The Role:  

• Providing outstanding customer service over the phone and face-to-face.  

• Welcoming clients and their pets to the clinic.  

• Managing appointments for clinical staff.  

• Liaising with vets and vet nurses to ensure efficient daily scheduling.  

• Processing invoices and payments.  

• Ensuring a neat and tidy presentation of the reception and waiting areas.  

• Working across different shifts during the week and on weekends  

About you:  

•  Vibrant and positive person who contributes to a friendly and professional working environment.   

• Enjoys being busy and talking to people and forming a good rapport with them.  

• Available to travel between our Maffra and Sale clinics  

• Availability to work on a Friday 8am – 530pm  

• Available one Saturday a month 8am - 1230pm 

• Strong attention to detail and time management skills  

• Mature and confident approach when communicating with clients.

To be successful:  

• Minimum 2 years experience in a busy customer service role  

• Reception experience in a vet clinic is preferable but not essential.  

• Exceptional customer service skills and a “can-do” attitude.  

• Ability to multi-task with excellent time management skills.   

• Ability to communicate well with clients, your colleagues and managers.  

• Excellent computer skills
