Casual Veterinary Receptionist

Hobart and Channel Highway Animal Hospitals are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for both pet owners and their furry friends.

About the role:
- Minimum of 16 hours per week (Thursday and Friday)
- Possibility of up to 40 hours per week
- Must be available to work a share of Saturdays (9am - 2pm)
- Potential to transition into a Permanent Part Time role in the future
Responsibilities:
- Greet clients warmly and ensure a friendly and inviting atmosphere
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and provide accurate information to clients
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met
- Collect and update client information, including pet records and contact details
- Assist with filing, data entry, and maintaining organised records
- Process payments and handle financial transactions accurately
- Effectively communicate with veterinary staff to ensure seamless co-ordination of appointments and services
- Relay important information to clients regarding appointment reminders, follow-ups, and special instructions
- Address client concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to handle emergencies and urgent situations
About you:
- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology is a plus
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with scheduling software and Microsoft Office

Remuneration is in line with the Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award 2020.
