What you will do

At Mack you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. Mack Trucks is part of Volvo Group Australia Pty Ltd (VGA), which is a member of the Volvo Group. The First Mack trucks arrived in Australia in 1919 and they have been proudly built in their Queensland factory since 1963. Today, Mack has grown to become one of the largest heavy-duty truck suppliers in Australia. 

As a key liaison between Mack Trucks and external stakeholders, your communication skills and strategic acumen will be vital in driving business opportunities and maintaining robust customer relationships. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership to enable operational and commercial excellence, driving regional strategy for growth and process excellence. 
  • Collaborate with Executives to recommend sales strategies and financial policies to increase revenue. 
  • Lead strategic business growth through cross-functional teams, focusing on the Total Solutions offering. 
  • Optimise departmental competence through talent identification and development aligned with our regional strategy. 
  • Continue to develop and enhance the Sales and Marketing function within Mack Trucks
  • Coordinate total brand contribution and present monthly financial reports. 
  • Identify and pursue business opportunities, implementing pricing policies and overseeing sales administration. 
  • Maintain trade press relationships, develop, submit, and follow up on forecasts, business plans, and budgets and achieve annual sales targets. 
  • Coordinate new model introductions with the Product Planning Manager. 
  • Participate in meetings, boards, and committees as requested, including as an active member of the ELT. 
  • Represent VGA with external stakeholders as needed.

  • An extensive and well-rounded experience within the Transport Capital Equipment Industry with Sales and Product Marketing responsibilities 
  • Strong general business acumen with a proven track record of sustainable profit and growth. 
  • Inspirational leadership qualities with an ability to lead and build great teams, instill trust and drive for results to reach target goals and objectives. 
  • A solid understanding of the transport and logistics industry, and truck products in particular. Knowledge of Volvo, Mack & competitors will be expected. 
  • A strategic mindset, self-awareness, always customer and service and future focused. 
  • An ownership mentality, excellent situational adaptability and strong communication and presentation skills. 
  • Comfortable with frequent travel domestically and abroad and working with international stakeholders. 
  • Tertiary qualification in business or other relevant, would be highly regarded.
