About the Role
This role will see you work within the Asia Pacific Newsroom's Chinese Language Team, alongside other digital, radio and television teams, to deliver video on demand (VOD) and vertical video content for ABC News and ABC Chinese's digital platforms.
You will generate stories that are relevant to a broad section of Australians and reflect the cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity of the country by actively engaging with communities in Australia's outer suburbs to find and tell stories that are relevant for them and in line with the News strategy, “Audience-First News” - with a particular focus on reporting on China and Australia's Chinese-speaking communities.
You will pitch, write, edit and publish original, high-quality video and social media content, in conjunction with ABC's existing and experimental digital platforms.
About You
You'll be able to demonstrate a genuine interest and passion in finding and telling stories that reflect Australia's diversity, with proven ability to source and maintain contacts across the broader Australian community, as well as comprehensive ability to speak and write in-language.
You'll have a proficient ability to shoot, write and edit for video with a focus on digital-first production techniques, as well as the ability to identify trends in digital news consumption, new media technologies and platforms.
