  • $117K to $129K plus 15.4% Nominated Super

About the Role

This new position is at the forefront of the digital transformation of the Content teams at the ABC. You will lead the digital-first video distribution strategy and guide video creators in the ABC's Digital Content Team to increase ABC reach, engagement and understanding of video opportunities. 

The role will see you: 

  • Lead planning processes for the daily and longer-term video production across the broader Content Team.
  • Working with key stakeholders, develop and implement a detailed strategy for digital-first commissioning of video content across the Content team.
  • Develop formats and templates to meet new audience opportunities and drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in video production and distribution.
  • Lead, mentor, coach and develop staff to meet content deliverables, enhance output and improve skills in video camera operation and production.
  • Film, edit and produce key content from high quality multi-camera set ups, to simple vertical video.
  • Provide feedback, best practice information, platform insights and coaching for video producers across the ABC.
  • Liaise with other ABC teams on co-production and cross promotion opportunities.
  • Produce video content for special events, including live broadcasts, special events and broad content campaigns across the organisation where required.

About You

You are a talented digital video content maker, with exceptional editorial leadership, people management skills, proven experience providing training and mentoring to staff. You will also have experience working in a large, complex organisation.

You will able to demonstrate you have the following: 

  • Highly advanced user of video production software eg Adobe Premiere Pro and/or other relevant software.
  • Highly advanced knowledge of web publishing/multimedia, including using social media and SEO.
  • Knowledge of the current digital media industry developments, audience trends and best practice with a demonstrated willingness to adapt and change in an evolving digital environment.
  • Demonstrated high-level multi-camera shooting and multi-camera editing skills and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and train creative teams and effectively engage teams around strategy, best practice content creation and workflows.
  • Understanding and passion to source and create authentic content which represents the broad diversity of the Australian community, including stories that reflect a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds and Indigenous communities where editorially relevant.
