Visitor Experience Officer

Casual availability across 7-day roster
Band 4 $32.14 - $34.26 per hour plus casual loading and superannuation
Work at the Art Gallery of Ballarat during major exhibitions and events
About the opportunity:
The Art Gallery of Ballarat is Australia’s oldest, largest and most engaging regional gallery. Housing a nationally significant collection of over 11,500 artworks and hosting more than 35 exhibitions and 200 public programs and events each year, the Gallery is a key driver of cultural tourism to the Ballarat region as well as much loved local icon.
We are looking for dynamic, results focused, creative people to provide exceptional customer service and ticketing services for the Gallery’s exhibition and events program.
As a casual Visitor Experience Officer, you will provide direct visitor engagement during the exhibition and be the first point of welcome for visitors to the Gallery.
What we’re looking for:
Experience in sales, events, customer service or hospitality roles, including experience in cash handling and securing sales opportunities.
Strong communication skills and the ability to be part of a cohesive and productive team.
Ability to operate computerised point of sale retail system, cash handling and daily reconciliation.
Positive attitude, attention to detail, and customer-oriented with good multitasking and organisational ability.
Ability to work flexibly and cooperatively as required.
