Role Details
The South Australian Museum is looking for a Visitor Services Officer to welcome visitors to the Discovery Centre. This person will be responsible for proactively engaging with visitors of all ages and abilities. They will demonstrate great energy, warmth, and a passion for science and learning combined with exceptional people and organisational skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to prepare and communicate accurate and engaging information in response to questions from visitors, both in person and online. The Visitor Services Officer will be required to maintain and care for the Discovery Centre including working with volunteers to clean and organise the space and displays. This role is part of the Access and Learning team, within the broader Engagement team, and plays an important part in communicating the unique stories of our collections, exhibitions, and research in vibrant and exciting ways for learners of all ages.
Special Conditions

• The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
• The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
• Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
• This role requires a working with children check.
• This role requires a National Criminal History check.
• The role consists of 11.5 hours per week split over 7.5 hours on Fridays and 4 hours on Sundays.

Salary Range
$57,842 $62,221 p.a. (adjusted to part time hours worked).
