The Visitor Service Officer is the face of Visitor Services in Mount Gambier, providing visitor information and other relevant services to the public and tourism industry with high standards of customer service. The role facilitates a positive visitor experience encouraging visitors to stay longer, spend more and become advocates for the Mount Gambier region.
**Outside of standard working hours and weekend work is a requirement of this position**
This position is classified at Level 2 Year 1 (currently $36.76 per hour pus 25% casual loading) of the City of Mount Gambier Administration Staff Agreement No.12 2022.
About you:
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to effectively manage time and workload.
• Relevant experience and/or extensive knowledge of the local tourism industry, tourism infrastructure, services and products.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Sound knowledge of computer hardware and software applications relevant to the online and work environment.
• Ability to apply knowledge to contribute to in-house promotional publications, tourism digital sites and comprehensive media library.
• Cash handling experience and the ability to reconcile and account for monies received at the Centre.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team with limited supervision.
