Visual Arts Assistant

Our Lady of Mercy College (OLMC), Parramatta is a leading Catholic independent school for girls established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1889. The College is located within a dynamic educational precinct in North Parramatta.

The College is seeking a Visual Arts Assistant. The successful applicant will oversee the ordering and storage of all Visual Art resources, provide preparation and support for lessons where equipment and materials are required, and to support the Visual Arts staff.

This role is a part time, fixed term, and a term-time only position. The days of work are a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30am to 3:00pm commencing as soon as possible until the end of Term 3, 2024.

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience in a similar role and hold a current WWCC.
• The ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
• The ability to be flexible, adaptive, and willing to assist where necessary.
• Demonstrated desire and initiative to assist Visual Arts teachers and students in an environment where academic excellence is emphasised.
• Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of media with the ability to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign being beneficial.
• Preparedness to assist with physical preparation, set up, cleaning, and storeroom management.
• Demonstrated capacity to relate professionally to both College staff and students.
