Description
We are recruiting for an exciting 12 month Fixed Term opportunity within the Enterprise Marketing & Data team at the Estee Lauder Companies Head Office in Sydney.
The Visual Merchandising Lead, ANZ is responsible for leading best-in-class Visual Merchandising planning and execution across the Australia and New Zealand markets. This role leads a team of Visual Merchandising Managers and is responsible for talent development and ensuring that the team meets all KPI's. The role reports to the Enterprise Marketing & Data Director.
They also manage the day-to-day relationship with our Creative agency TAG to ensure that the onsite team are meeting all creative deliverables. This role drives creativity and innovation, whilst maintaining brand equity and image.
Identifying process improvements and streamlining VM operations across brands and markets is a key responsibility for this role, ensuring that creative execution is running efficiently and demonstrating best practice.
Key responsibilities but are not limited to:
LEADING YOURSELF
- You will be happy to lead the Visual Merchandising team collaboratively, working alongside them, monitoring workloads and supporting their efforts;
- In the area of Corporate Stores, where you are directly responsible for the end-to-end Visual Merchandising execution, you will collaborate with the Commercial team to drive innovation and test concepts to share across the wider business;
- Comfortable with using data to inform your decision making and identify ways of working that can lead to process improvements;
- Someone who can think critically and look for areas to go beyond what we currently do, including how we think with an omni-approach to bring digital media to life in store;
- Demonstrate a consumer-first mindset in everything that you do.
LEADING THE TEAM
- Lead and inspire our Visual Merchandising team to deliver a high standard of work and model collaborative relationships with Regional & Global colleagues;
- Conduct regular WIP meetings with key stakeholders, including TAG, to ascertain current and upcoming workload, resourcing and strategic priorities.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with business partners including all key internal stakeholders, suppliers, and retail partners, ensuring open communication, reflection and service is at the expectation set out by ELC.
- Ensure that the team's priorities are aligned with the vision and strategic priorities of the Affiliate and Brands.
- Establish high workplace operating standards and appraise team performance to ensure department objectives are achieved and maintained.
LEADING THE ORGANISATION
Provide creative leadership, coaching and professional development to direct reports and the wider CCH team.
- Inspire and drive creative excellence across ELC to support Global Brand strategies. Ensure omni-mindset with execution of ideas and bringing to life concepts.
- Maintain appropriate communication with different functional areas of the affiliate locally and with the regional and global teams when required. Including connecting with Creative lead in HK and other markets to bring learnings to the affiliate.
- Work closely with the Enterprise Marketing Director to develop budgets for department travel and expenses;
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, particularly in the areas of design costs, rate cards and production savings.
- Responsible for the Visual Merchandising of the Corporate Stores and The Company Stores group, using this space to test concepts and innovations.
- Build collaborative relationships with Brands ensuring open communication, reflection
- Visit stores regularly to ensure the visual execution meets brand guidelines and to monitor competitor activity.
- Keep Enterprise Marketing Director informed of key challenges, priorities and business developments and projects.

- Exceptional eye for detail and accuracy with previous Visual Merchandising experience, including writing briefs and working to brand guidelines
- Ability to prioritize and handle several major tasks simultaneously
- Experience coaching and leading a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and self-manage deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication

Qualifications/Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree; tertiary or equivalent 5 years of work experience in the relevant field
- Experience in strategic planning and execution in a creatively commercial organisation,
- Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations
- A strong understanding of how to creatively use digital media assets to drive customer traffic;
- The ability to curate imagery which effectively depicts brand identity, tone and voice, as required.
- The ability to communicate your creative opinion and ideas to the team
- Be able to work autonomously and collaboratively within the organisation
- Working knowledge of a computerised system including:
o Microsoft TEAMS & Office 365 application (word, excel, outlook, powerpoint, etc);
o Flash & Dreamweaver;
o SAP; WRIKE; Adobe Suite
