About the role

We are now recruiting for a Viticulture Technical Officer to join our Viticulture team. Reporting into the Grade Supply Manager – Commercial & Victoria. In this unique opportunity you will be responsible for providing in-field Viticulture Technical and Grower liaison service for contract grape growers in the Riverland and Lower Murray regions of South Australia.
You will be based at our Berri Estates Winery, in this full-time and permanent opportunity.
Key responsibilities
Some of the tasks you may be involved in include;
• Collaborate closely with grape growers to ensure grape production standards meet or exceed the requirements of domestic and global markets.
• Take ownership of contract grower records, maintaining data accuracy to support streamlined operations.
• Conduct thorough Safe Grape audits, empowering growers with essential insights and guidance to maintain the safety and compliance standards within the grower group.
• Organise and coordinate trucking operations, ensuring efficient and timely transportation of fruit to and from the region.
• Play a pivotal role in the intake management of fruit into the Berri facility, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving to uphold operational excellence.
What you'll bring
• Proven track record in a similar Viticulture Technical Officer role or equivalent.
• Strong ability to develop and maintain both internal and external relationships.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain strong data accuracy.
• Strong communication skills with exceptional negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
