Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Champion a best-in-class WH&S culture.
- Lead the team, to ensure they have clear accountabilities, are continuously learning and provided a voice and the development, operations, planning and procurement of the vineyard.
- Monitor and maintain the on-farm resources and assets - irrigation infrastructure, machinery, shedding and others.
- Establish and lead an efficient & effective communication program with the General Manager.
About You
This role will develop as the project does, thus experience growing and managing teams effectively is key. From planning and growth techniques to leadership, safety, and stakeholder engagement.
Our candidate will have previous experience in vineyard management, with vineyard development an advantage. As an effective leader and good communicator, you will ensure your team are trained and skilled in their areas and be committed to a culture of safety.
Education / Experience / Skills
- Good level of Financial literacy
- Drivers Licence
- Tertiary qualification in viticulture/horticulture or related discipline
- Sound understanding of horticultural practices and irrigation requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Demonstrable aptitude in decision-making and problem solving
- An innate vigilance for setting and maintaining high standards; and
- A preparedness to be a collaborative, results-orientated team member;
- Sound knowledge of:
- Vineyard nutrition
- Irrigation systems and associated software
- Growing for specific winemaking parameters
- Cropping levels
- Pests and diseases
- Vineyard development/redevelopment:
- Vineyard design
- Rehabilitation and/or replanting of underperforming vineyards
