What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Director Medical Services and the Clinical Director of Anaesthetics, the VMO Anaesthetist will participate in the consultation on-call roster, assist in the education role of the department, provide clinical care to patients as well as perform all types of anaesthesia for the Coffs Clinical Network. The successful applicant will hold registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Anaesthetist and/or overseas trained specialist pathways. The role includes credentialing for the following facilities within the Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD): Coffs Harbour Health Campus, Macksville District Hospital and Bellinger River District Hospital.
Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases
If you are applying for a Category A position, under the NSW Health Policy Directive , evidence of current immunity status that complies with the policy must be supplied.
COVID-19 Vaccination Compliancy
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form)
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Selection Criteria * Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Anaesthetist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Anaesthesia at the role delineation of the service.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
