About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of our residents. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for developing and leading a volunteer service whose key focus is to meet the interests of residents by matching them with a compassionate volunteer from their local community.

This permanent part-time position is based at our brand-new purpose built dementia care village at Daw Park. Daw Park has six home-like cottages designed for people living with dementia, with small household living for between 9 - 15 residents.

This exciting role has flexibility to work either 3 days per week or shorter days spread across 4 days.

Duties include:

  • Working with multidisciplinary teams to build a volunteer service that compliments the needs of HammondCare Residential service and clients
  • Attracting, recruiting and onboarding volunteers, matching their interests with suitable opportunities
  • Managing and mentoring volunteers, supporting them with both online and onsite face-to-face training as well as coordinating social volunteer events
  • Maintaining accurate records in our volunteer database (Salesforce) and following established processes and guidelines for Volunteer Services
  • Managing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme

About you:

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCares Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
  • Demonstrated experience in an Administration/ Coordination position
  • Demonstrated experience where relationship building is a prominent component of your role
  • Leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with others
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport quickly and work with people at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Preferred experience in recruitment particularly of volunteers
  • Intermediate MS Office skills
  • Empathic and compassionate
