Statewide - SA Pathology 

  • Salary: TGO1 - $48,067 - $68,997 (p.a.)+ Superannuation & Salary Sacrifice Benefits

  • Full Time, Contracted Role up to 12 months 

Wallaroo known for being one of South Australia's of beautiful coastal towns and a favourite holiday destination, is located on the Yorke Peninsula. Wallaroo is a seaside paradise, just a two-hour drive from Adelaide.
Wallaroo is famously known as a holiday hotspot for South Aussies, due to its sandy beaches that are perfect for swimming or a beach stroll. Its chic cafes and restaurants, as well as its vast opportunities for Fishing fanatics to cast a line off of the local Jetty or join a local charter, are just a select few of the many recreational activities available.

Wallaroo and its associated towns have many sporting clubs and recreational activities to become a part of and provide opportunities to socially network to become part of a great community. These include multiple local gyms, recreational centres with swimming facilities, as well as a vast variety of sporting clubs which include Netball, Basketball, Hockey, Football and Cricket, just to name a few.

About the role

The Wallaroo Laboratory is located in the Wallaroo Hospital. The laboratory provides a 24 hour, 7 days a week service to the hospital and surrounding towns of the Yorke Peninsula. The laboratory performs routine Biochemistry, Haematology, Transfusion and is one of South Australia's five Regional Laboratories that performs Microbiology. There are countless opportunities to professionally develop, while performing an array of tests for our local community. Wallaroo is a small multiskilled team of Scientists and Laboratory Technicians and is looking for the next person to join their team.

The following objectives for a Technical Officer at the classification level of TGO 1 are as follows:

  • Contribute to the provision of a quality, multi-disciplined pathology service provided in a regional laboratory.
  • Activities at this level may be undertaken on an individual basis or in a team and will include a requirement to exercise knowledge.
  • Perform duties which require expertise, experience and technical skills to apply standardised practices and procedures in the conduct of a range of technical activities.
  • Participate in technical project work which requires a level of applied knowledge and skill, which can be gained by experience.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
  • Working With Children Check (DHS)
  • Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

Educational/Vocational Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in an approved and recognised qualification
